Self-motivated, independent financial software engineer with international software development experience. Three years experience in product management (from ideation to marketing) for a Java based desktop software and web stock widgets. More than 10 years of IT experience in Singapore/Malaysia and US including seven years at financially-oriented firms. Avid interest in finance and strong knowledge of equity markets from front-office to back-office. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Technology and Diploma in Banking & Finance. Fluent in English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Malay Language. Articulate and confident, with excellent quantitative, problem-solving, and analytical skills.



KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS

  • Web-based Pension portal development for a Denmark-based Pension and Insurance company using Java EE, JQuery and open source libraries
  • Developed a 3D visualization utility using a Java OpenGL library for a US-based quantitative hedge fund. The utility creates slideshow of option volatility surfaces and allows zooming and mouse-driven rotation.
  • Developed and marketed the world first shrink-wrapped desktop software to download fund prices from websites for portfolio analysis and technical analysis. The software is a catalyst in adopting technical analysis for funds in 16 countries around Asia and Europe.
  • Evangelized a Java/J2EE framework for a Singapore-based technology service provider.
  • Managed a team in developing a Java-based framework on time and within budget for a Singapore-based IT services provider. Also helped with pre-sales activities including presentations and making bids.
  • Created a margin financing application for an international bank in Singapore.
  • Developed a real-time risk monitoring system for a US-based brokerage services firm to help brokerage firms hedge risk.
