All right, from the charts above, SGDMYR currency traders are forecasting something bad is going to happen similar to 1997 Asian Financial Crisis (See spike in SGDMYR exchange rate).

Are the currency traders wrong? May be. Anyway be prepared. Luck favor the prepared.

Conclusions of second free test of a Singapore proxy

This test was conducted during nighttime on weekday (peak retail Internet usage period). Previous test was on Saturday. So does the Singapore proxy improve browsing speed for Malaysia broadband users?
1. The Singapore proxy does not help to improve browsing speed of 50% of testers. The reasons could be

  • overhead of proxy.
  • routing preference given to US traffic than traffic to Singapore during congestion period.

2. A subscriber of high-end plan, e.g. > 1Mbps, has a better browsing speed even during peak Internet usage period. The reasons could be

  • ISP does not have the bandwidth to support the subscribed rate.
  • ISP put a speed cap to reduce cost of international traffic.

Based on past two tests, the Singapore proxy improves browsing speed during non-peak Internet usage period and for high-end broadband subscribers.

Note : The second free test of a Singapore proxy event was conducted at LYN. Thanks LYN.
